Dan/Blair: Favourite Lines (in no particular order)
And if I open that envelope, will you be able to hide from your problems then?
I really loved this scene. I know tend to over-romanticise and over-analyse just about everything, but there was something poetic about the way Blair was leaning against the tree on a sidewalk in the midst of a summer evening in bustling Manhattan, with that cool, mysterious breeze exclusive to the end of summer; the sign which signals that change is in the air, that sooner or later, whether we like it or not, the start of a new season, the end of summer and the beginning of reality, will be creeping upon us. It’s a scene where they’re incredibly honest and sincere with each other and reveal the true thoughts that they admit they’ve been masquerading. I think that in itself was very courageous and mature. Above all, I liked how Dan handed Blair that envelope and then walks away, fully aware that it’s something that she has to do by herself, regardless of how curious he is about what is inside or how it might affect him. He recognises that it’s her life, her decision and completely respects that. This scene shows that Dan and Blair bring out the best of each other and provide each other with strength. They lift each other up, not bring each other down, unlike a certain other couple. And again, unlike a certain other couple, through each other’s company and encouragement, Dan and Blair are able to face their future together as a pair, yet still remain brave, independent individuals who ultimately overcome their own personal obstacles on their own, the way that it should be.

I kept sitting here thinking…Penn’s face here reminds me of something…what is it? WHY DOES IT LOOK SO FAMILIAR TO ME, THIS FACE? And then it hit me. It’s Nick’s turtle face. TWINS FOREVER!
